The Sharavati Express takes about 23 hours to wend its way from Bombay to Mysore. Unlike a train journey through Canada where you can spend a whole day passing through scrub and muskeg, this journey is pretty-much continuous civilization the whole way down.
lyrics
Two lone men,
Standing on a road,
A line that's cut out of the wild,
One turns in, throwing down his load,
Said I've been wondering for miles,
Why was I dealing out my time?
2AC rumbles as it goes,
Red and clay and dust for miles,
Sunflower stalks bending in their rows,
Rise in cool hours of the night,
But I am waiting for a child,
Her eyes are blue and wild,
And miles and miles...
I heard quaking in the trees,
And I awoke,
Like I'd been shaken from a dream,
And I heard wispering on the leaves,
And roots that wrote,
The words we hid away like thieves,
And the trees, they yawned and woke,
And I'd been walking in a dream,
The trees, the words they spoke,
Were lines they'd stolen from a dream,
And now we rise.
